The Retreat Venue

Cortijo las Salinas is a very old Spanish villa which has Roman origins and some interesting ancient history.  It has been restored into an 11 bedroom retreat venue with a combination of single and double bedrooms, creating flexible accommodation, and is centred around a traditional courtyard with marble fountain. The accommodation is of a very high standard and comprises of Villa Romana, which is a 3 bedroom / 2 bathroom house; Casa Blanca which is a 4 bedroom / 2 bathroom apartment and 5 individual rooms with their own en suite facilities.  Once booked the villa remains exclusive for your entire stay.   Andalucia is known for its awe inspiring beatuy and breathtaking countryside with the cortijo being situated perfectly to enjoy your early morning Salutations to the Sun as it rises over the mountain showering you with the warmth and rich Andalucian light.

This private oasis is set between the ancient cities of Granada, Cordoba and Jaén, amidst ancient olive groves with breathtaking uniterrupted views over the beautiful and dramatic landscapes of the Sierra Sur.  The villa is officially registered and regularly inspected, we therefore comply to a very high standard of cleanliness, facilities and service.

There are many secluded areas for reading and meditation as well as the communal areas for get togethers and socialising.   The swimming pool is warm and inviting with many sun beds and is open from May 1st until the end of October.  Towels and pool towels are provided, along with robes during your retreat stay.

The yoga shala is perfect for all yoga sessions and has space for 12 yoga swings and 15 mats.  However, there are many other areas around the cortijo where the yoga mats can be rolled out for a different experience or view, yogis can often be seen practising down by the river or meditating in the olive groves.

The art studio is perfect for a painting workshop or art/meditation session, and is fully equipped with paints, brushes and easels.

The Grand Salon is a perfect inside space for health and nutrition talks and is where breakfast is usually served.
